The Days of Creation:

I decided to draw the Biblical Creation account in order to help give people a mental picture and to drive the concept home.

Day 1 (Genesis 1:1-5): Heaven, Earth, and light. Heaven probably refers to space, or the entire physical universe beyond earth. Light was created before the sun, which is not unreasonable because the light spectrum is a necessary precursor to the advent of light. God draws on his infinite energy reserves to imbue the universe with energy and matter. The earth is formless and void like a giant mudball.

Day 2 (Genesis 1:6-8): God created a firmament separating the waters from the waters. The “firmament” is a layer of atmosphere which divided the water on the surface of the earth from a layer of water above the atmosphere. We know that the firmament refers to the gaseous portion of the atmosphere because Genesis 1:20 states that the birds fly in the firmament.

Day 3 (Genesis 1:9-13): God created distinct landmasses and filled the earth with plants.

Day 4 (Genesis 1:14-19): God created the Sun and Moon to give light to the earth during the day and night. The moon is essentially a giant reflector, which is why it is so white. Other moons in our solar system come in a variety of colors because they do not serve the same function. There are no sentient beings living on the other planets, hence no need for night time illumination. Upon its original creation the moon was probably completely white, and without the “seas” and craters, which probably formed rapidly when the flood occurred (more on that later).

Day 5 (Genesis 1:20-23): Avian and aquatic creatures were created. This is the opposite of what evolutionary believers believe. The Bible specifically mentions that whales were created during this time, contrary to the evolutionistic belief that the advent terrestrial mammals antedated the arrival of whales. Furthermore, birds were created before reptiles and terrestrial mammals.

Day 6 (Genesis 1:24-31): God created all the terrestrial animals, as well as humanity. People and animals were commanded to eat plants, and would not be permitted to eat animals until after the flood. Adam and Eve did not wear clothes but instead gave off a great deal of light. 1 Corinthians 11:7 states that man was made in the image of the glory of God, Psalm 104:2 says that God covers himself with light “as with a garment,” and Ezekiel chapter 1, which describes the image or glory of God, describes a humanoid appearance which appears to be composed of something resembling molten metal and generating a great deal of light. Adam and Eve would loose their luminescence after eating the fruit.

*It is important to remember that the days referred to in the Biblical Creation account are literal 24 hour days, not figurative for millions of years. Anything which contradicts this is a heresy. Day Age theory and the Gap theory are direct contradictions to the Biblical creation account just as evolutionism is. The gap theory places death before the fall of man, and the day age directly contradicts the blatant meaning of the text, which painstakingly emphasizes real actual days.
